Bitdeer buys 101 MW gas power plants in Alberta, Canada for BTC mining

Bitcoin (BTC) Mining Company Bitdeer announced today that it has gained a 101 mW gas plant near Fox Creek, Albert, for the construction of “Vertically Integrated” BTC operations.

“We are really excited about planting roots in Alberta, our first page is the highlight of extensive cooperation with multiple government agencies and the Canadian Consortium of BlockChain,” said Haris Basit in Bitdeer in a statement to the public . “Means a significant step in our strategy to become the first-to-vertically integrated Bitcoin Rudar, giving us incomparable control over costs, energy efficiency and scalability.”

Bitdeer says planning to build 99 MW DataCenter on the site. The site has a scaling capacity at 1 GW. Energy production costs will be between 20 to $ 25 per MW / h.

The plant is also licensed for interconnection of 99 MW to the local electricity network, and Bitdeer said that it plans to sell power in Alberta Grid to stabilize prices in periods of high demand.

“By combining its own generation of electricity, mining machines for mining and the opportunistic participation of the network, we believe that this website will set a new scale for the economy of the industrial unit,” Basit added.

Bitdeer says he plans to start making a place for the preparation of the place and initial infrastructure in Q2 2025 and operates entirely in Q4 2026.
